Grilled chicken with lemon and oregano

Ingredients:
chicken breasts
olive oil
lemon juice
garlic
oregano (fresh)

We marinate the chicken breasts in the other ingredients before grilling (on the barbecue); the chicken really takes up the flavor of the fresh oregano (choose your pronunciation!), and we grill a few lemon slices for serving, too.

Swiss Chard

Ingredients:
Swiss chard
pine nuts
raisins (golden)
garlic
olive oil
balsamic vinegar

We haven't eaten Swiss chard too often, and this was a tasty in-season recipe with fresh chard from Busa Farm. you need to cut up the stalks and cook them for longer (even though we cooked them for the full amount of time, they were still a little chewy: more water might help). The balsamic vinegar, which goes in right at the end, was an excellent addition.

Spicy Sausage in Tomato Stew

Ingredients:
Italian sausage
onion
canned tomatoes
garlic
dry white wine
cumin
bay leaf
cilantro (fresh)

This is a something of a variation on the previous recipe, though from a completely different source, and we thought that it was even tastier: the tomatoes and the various spices/herbs are a delicious combination. We tried it with sweet Italian sausage; spicy would probably be great, too.

We ate it with polenta fritters and crusty bread; the recipe also suggested potatoes.
